Astronomers spot water vapor in region where planets likely form

Astronomers have found water vapor around a young star within the constellation Taurus, 450 light-years away from Earth.

Surprise finding suggests 'water planets' are more common

A new study suggests that many more planets may have large amounts of water than previously thought - as much as half water and half rock. All that water is probably embedded in the rock, rather than flowing as oceans.

Water Discovered in the Atmosphere of an Exoplanet

Astronomers using the Hubble space telescope have discovered water in the atmosphere of an exoplanet in its star’s habitable zone. The water was detected as vapour in the atmosphere. The planet is called K2-18b.
