Astronomers Discover a Star That Flashes Every 20 Minutes

Just 4,000 light-years from Earth is a strange, star-sized object. It’s been observed by radio telescopes, but astronomers aren’t sure what it is. They call it a long period transient.

Blinking Star Found Near the Center of the Milky Way

International team of astronomers found a star 100 times larger than our sun that nearly disappears from the sky every few decades.  They also have no idea why it does so. This could be a new class of stars.

Astronomers spot another object that flickers like Tabby’s star

This object, a star, could have some sort of orbiting debris that periodically blocks the starlight, but researchers say they need more observations to figure out if that’s possible or if the flicker is caused by something else.
