A star system, located 3,000 light-years away from Earth, is predicted to become visible to the unaided eye soon. This could be a once-in-a-lifetime viewing opportunity as the nova ouburst only occurs about every 80 years.
The eROSITA telescope aboard the Spektr-RG space observatory at the L2 Lagrange point captured the first time in what is known as the ‘fireball’ phase of a classical nova.
This star is going to go nova (not supernova) by 2083. V Sagittae is in the constellation Sagitta and is s about 1100 light years from Earth. When the brightening happen, it will be historic. V Sge will appear startlingly bright in the night sky.
